Okay, I’m still very mad about the LP nominating Bob Barr for President. There isn’t anybody that can convince me that someone who voted for The UnPatriot Act is a libertarian, much less the Libertarian nominee for President.

And even though I’ve ripped up my LP membership card, I’m not giving up on the libertarian cause. It just seems I may no longer have a National Party that shares my love for all that’s liberty, not just lower taxes. You can keep my money if it means I have to give up my liberty….Read the Blog.. You Don’t Tread On My Liberty

Allen Buckley A Gem of A Libertarian

One gem in the upcoming season is the chance to vote for Allen Buckley for Georgia Senate. Buckley is a long-time Libertarian (never voted for the Patriot Act or Star Wars)

Buckley is the kind of Libertarian you vote for, so I’m going to spread the word about him.

Here’s What Buckley’s Website Lists as his priorities:

Primary Objectives

creating a realization among the          public that the federal government must reduce in size and scope in          order for the economy of the United States to survive;

providing the people of Georgia an          alternative candidate to the “big 2” with respect to whom they can feel          comfortable and conscionable about voting for;

reasonably reducing the size of the          federal government and its role in individuals’ lives;

changing the income tax, Social          Security and Medicare systems so that they are balanced, easily          understandable, practical and actuarially sound;

emphasizing national security and          protection from terrorism, but not practicing imperialism or anything          like it;

taking action to preserve air quality          and the environment in a practical manner;

helping solve the illegal immigration problem; and

helping change the U.S. so that it can potentially last indefinitely.

Long-Term Vision          For The U.S.

I don’t believe that the U.S. should have an agenda of spreading democracy throughout the world. Instead, I believe that the U.S. should concentrate on maintaining a free market economy and maintaining the strongest military for an indefinite period of time, while maximizing individual freedom, minimizing taxes, protecting the environment and exercising fiscal responsibility. If these goals are to be attained, then our ship must change its course.

We need leaders who are intelligent and who have the best interests of the country at heart. Unfortunately, the primary goal of many of the elected officials and candidates of the two major parties is to get elected or to remain in power while satisfying the needs of the special interest groups that gave them money so that they could grasp or retain power.

If Only we had a Libertarian like Allen Buckley running for President. I’d vote for that

Unfortunately George Phillies has been eliminated from the Libertarian 08 nomination process.

Its really a shame, because he reminded me, why Im a libertarian. The enemy is the far right and the far left, not other libertarians (unless they’re fake Libertarians I’d like to add).

The Libertarian Party nomination process is great to watch.

Does the party wish to take other party rejects as their own, or do they choose to choose talent from within, you know libertarians who were libertarians when libertarianism wasn’t cool.

Is there room for 2 Libertarian Parties?

Is the Constitution party the only option left. If Bob Barr is nominated it will definitely show that todays libertarians are only really interested in the fiscal libertarianism, and don’t really represent truly libertarian ideals.

I talked about how many ways Bob Barr will absolutely kill The Libertarian Party (see the Reform party, anybody know where it is now?), but what about Gravel?

Gravel supports the National Initiative for Democracy, which basically changes the way government would operate. It would literally change the constitution to bring us more to the form of Democracy or founding fathers avoided (we’re a republic, not a Democracy).

Gut tells me the LP will go for Bob Barr this weekend in Denver.

Short term gains will equal long-term disaster for the LP is this move is made.

Don’t say The G Blog Didn’t Warn You

I sure hope it is.

I know it is in many of us. A lot of my friends who pay attention realize that both the Democrats and Republicans are after the same thing, control, they just use different tactics, and have taken different angles on how to get their foot in the door of liberty. Both have been very successful.

Tom, from Liberty Talk Live would always talk about how people didn’t want liberty anymore, even if offered, and that the government was basically doing what its doing because its what the people want.

Its disturbing the truth in that message

Are people willing to forgo liberty for convenience? For the appearance of safety? I’m not sure. People think the fact that more people vote on American Idol than President. How about just calling it the Patriot Act makes it “unpatriotic” to defend the following language:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

That’s the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution, by the way. The one that says the government says you have to get a warrant. The one that the Patriot Act overrides somehow because its now not necessary to get a warrant to search my phone calls, even afterwards (I’d be a little more comfortable with it if they at least had to get a warrant afterwards).

Does anyone else wonder why the government does not want to have to get a warrant after they wiretap my phone call, even from a super secret court. I mean, they don’t even want the super secret court to know if they violated our 4th Amendment right even if its not until afterwards.

Should we have to form a Ultra-Secret Court to watch over the Secret Court?

And why do we have secret courts at all to begin with?

Because the Democrats and The Republicans want to make sure you know who’s in charge.

Has America decided that the people no longer control the government? America is the only body capable of giving that power, so if its happened it’s our fault.

Most of my closest friends are “conservatives”. Many of them are smart people who think about other people, try to do right, and are good and friendly people.

But when it comes to politics they’re wrong. There’s no way to sugar-coat it. I’ve had to track down and expose lie after lie emailed to me (John Kerry and Jane Fonda photo – FRAUD, Gore’s sayings, you know the ones that Dan Quail actually said – FRAUD, Obama a Secret Muslim –FRAUD), so now its time to turn the table…. Its time for me to break it down for you and tell you all how you’ve been bamboozled, and how the GOP and Democrats (mostly the GOP) have perpetrated a FRAUD on you, and you fell for it hook line an sinker

Members of the Republican Party are the biggest bunch of wimps I’ve ever come into contact with. They’re scared Ted Kennedy’s going to make it hard for them to get a doctor’s appointment. They’re scared Hillary Clinton is going to raise taxes on the rich. They’re scared two dudes kissing is the reason Rush Limbaugh’s been married 3 times.

Most of all, Republicans are scared like a little baby that 2 guys drinking goat milk, living in a cave in Afghanistan are developing a thermo-nuclear warhead. They’re scared that if we don’t kill people that didn’t attack us on September 11th, 2001, that in three months, we’ll live under Sharia law.

Yep, you’re all a bunch of woosies. You want the government to protect you from the “Boogie man” like Sadam (Don Rumsfeld had more contact with Saddam than Osama did), a former first lady, and some guy named Chip that just wants to make his toenails match his belt.

I’m here to say I was right about:

1: The War In Iraq – We never should have gone, and we should have sent 1 million troops if we did
2: The Bush Economy – You are lying to yourself if you think we’re better off than we were In 2000. And you’re stupid if you think it’s because of September 11th that we’re in the position we’re in.
3: Tax Cuts: This was actually a credit. Tell your children you are sorry (when they get back from Iraq), because they’ll actually be paying this one, and that I told you, and you knew better.
4: The Patriot Act – The Government has totally ignored the 4th amendment. YOU NEED TO READ THIS, ITS IMPORTANT:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The activist judges in The Supreme Court that think the Constitution is a “living document” really had to stretch to violate our rights on this one. It’s a good thing they had you scared of camel-boy, or you might have grown a pair and protested this, even on this one.

I write this with the hope that maybe one of my “conservative” friends (you know conservative like Ronald Reagan, who raised taxes 7 times in 8 budgets, conservative like pro-life, anti-gun Mitt Romney, conservative like President Bush II, there’s not enough internet to go through him) will wake up and stop being the pawn of the GOP.

I’m not saying you should vote Democrat. I’m not saying you should vote at all (you kind of screwed things up, I’m not sure I trust you with my country right now), but at least stop being so freaking stupid.

Those of us who really pay attention mock you when you’re not around. Thanks to you, that might be illegal soon.

Bob Barr, the former Republican Representative out of Georgia officially threw his hat into the ring yesterday for President…. As a Libertarian.

Barr has been a libertarian since 2006, and seems to try and represent the physical core of the party. I felt confident he would not raise taxes, and would work to lower both the income of the federal government and spending. I’m not so sure about that, considering he Voted For Star Wars (Voted YES on deploying SDI. (Mar 1999)

What concerns me, as a libertarian, is Bob Barr’s record on the other part of libertarianism, the social side, and to me, the most important part of libertarianism.

Rep Barr single-handedly derailed medical marijuana in Washington, DC (though he now works for Marijuana Policy Project (MPP)

Bob Barr Voted For The Patriot Act (though he says he now regrets it)

Bob Barr Votes Pro-Life (though he funded his girlfriends abortion so she wouldn’t tell his wife)

Bob Barr also helped spend $70million of our money trying to find out the mating habits of the Arkansas Horn Dog….

So when they ask me if I support Bob Barr for President in 2008, I’m going to ask them which one.

The Bob Barr that is running, or the Bob Barr that actually served.

If Bob Barr is awarded the Libertarian nomination, I’ll tear up my LP card, and stop donating my time and effort to the Libertarian Party (I will still support Libertarian Candidates in my area).

Libertarian is as Libertarian does. Bob Barr never did Libertarian

Despite some trouble with Senator Hillary Clinton, his “former” Pastor, and whisper campaigns, Barack Obama may very well win the Presidency in 2008.

I have repeatedly stated that John McCain would beat the Democratic nominee in the general election this fall, no matter who the candidate may turn out to be.

We now know that Senator Obama will be the nominee (this race was over months ago), and to be honest, my thinking has changed.

In the last 2 months, we’ve seen Barack Obama take a punch or two and come back strong. We’ve seen him stay relatively out of the mud, despite it being tossed at him, but most of all, he’s done something that Republicans have had a hard time doing in the last 30 yeaars

Barack Obama Beat The Clinton Machine

This is an accomplishment I think I failed to take into consideration when I said he couldn’t beat McCain. He’s done it without going negative, and I’m not sure that McCain will go as negative as Senator Clinton has.

The election will come down to Ohio, Pennsylvania, and perhaps, North Carolina. If Obama’s as smart as I think he is, he’ll ask Mike Easley to be his VP nominee. I know, NC Governor Easley has endorsed Clinton, but he’ll surely take the nod from Obama, especially considering he can’t run for a term that’s up this year.

If Easley’s on the ticket with Obama, the Dems won’t need Ohio or Pennsylvania in November.
